Abstract

The invention relates to a method for managing a set top box memory. The method comprises the following steps of: a, establishing a memory record sheet which records the distribution situation of the set top box memory through a memory record sheet module; b, when a set top box performs memory distribution, adding a memory distribution record relevant to the memory distribution into the memory record sheet through a memory distribution module; c, when the set top box performs memory release, searching the memory distribution record relevant to a memory to be released from the memory record sheet by a memory release module, if the relevant memory distribution record exists, executing memory release and deleting the memory distribution record; and d, determining an output period through a memory record sheet output module, and outputting the memory record sheet within an output period. The invention also relates to a device for managing the set top box memory.
