Abstract

The invention provides a method and device for searching a coverage area base station by using a geographic information system (GIS). The method comprises the following steps of: acquiring longitude and latitude information of an event site by GIS map sampling; searching the base station where the event site is located according to the longitude and latitude information from a base station position information table, and adding the searched base station into a coverage area base station set; as for each cell under the searched base station, respectively acquiring the cells which have a handover relationship with each cell; and adding the acquired base station to which the acquired cells belongs, to the coverage area base station set. According to the scheme of the invention, the coverage area base stations can be searched more completely and accurately.
