Abstract

The invention provides a method for authenticating identities on the basis of a mobile terminal. The method includes that the mobile terminal receives to-be-authenticated information forwarded by a mobile terminal authentication server, and the to-be-authenticated information is secondary authentication information generated by an identity authentication server after a user on a client side submits an authentication request to the identity authentication server; the mobile terminal receives acknowledgment information which is inputted by the user on the mobile terminal according to the secondary authentication information; the mobile terminal transmits the acknowledgment information to the identity authentication server via the mobile terminal authentication server so that an identity of the user can be authenticated by the identity authentication server according to the acknowledgment information. The method has the advantages that the identity authentication safety can be greatly improved, energy or expenditure which is paid by the user in order to improve the safety can be obviously reduced, and good experience can be realized for the user.
