Problems solved by technology

However, the evaluation method based only on spatial similarity lacks the impact of video quality distortion in the time domain on the overall quality evaluation, resulting in poor correlation between the evaluation results and subjective evaluation; while using frequency domain or motion estimation to evaluate time domain Similarity-based video quality evaluation methods are computationally complex, which makes the advantages of simple calculation of image or video quality evaluation methods based on structural similarity no longer exist; at the same time, the existing evaluation methods based on space and time domains generally pass Implemented by a simple weighted sum of independently computed spatial and temporal results, rather than an organic overall evaluation

Embodiment Construction

[0024] The present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and embodiments.

[0025] The present invention proposes an objective video quality evaluation method based on spatial and temporal structural similarity, which evaluates the structural similarity between the distorted video and the reference video from both spatial and temporal aspects (wherein the spatial evaluation includes brightness and color). degree of structural similarity, while time-domain evaluation is expressed by the structural similarity of inter-frame residuals, which is simple and quick to calculate), use the quaternion matrix to establish the structural similarity evaluation model, and use the singular value decomposition method to solve the structural similarity Quaternion matrix, the overall implementation block diagram is as follows figure 1 shown, which includes the following steps:

Abstract

The invention discloses an objective video quality evaluation method based on space domain and time domain structural similarities. Structural similarity between a distorted video and a reference video is evaluated from two aspects of the space domain and the time domain, space domain evaluation comprises luminance and chrominance structural similarities, the time domain evaluation is presented by using interframe residual structural similarities and calculation is simple and quick. A quaternion matrix is then used for building a structural similarity evaluation model. A singular value decomposition method is then adopted for solving the structural similarity quaternion matrix and the final objective quality evaluation value is obtained. The method has the advantages that complexity of calculation is low, and correlation between the objective evaluation result and subjective perception can be effectively improved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a video quality evaluation technology, in particular to an objective evaluation method of video quality based on the structural similarity of space domain and time domain. Background technique [0002] Video or image quality evaluation has important applications in many occasions, such as evaluating the performance of compression algorithms and optimizing compression parameters, monitoring the quality of video transmission in the Internet, and providing QOS services. Therefore, researches on video or image quality evaluation are also increasing. At present, video quality evaluation methods can be divided into two categories: subjective evaluation methods and objective evaluation methods. Subjective evaluation methods are time-consuming and costly, so objective evaluation methods have always been a research hotspot. Objective evaluation methods measure video quality based on quantitative indicators or parameters given by the m...
