Abstract

The invention discloses a traffic local optimization method in an internet video-on-demand system. The method comprises the following steps: a node periodically reports own network status, IP (Internet Protocol) address and play progress and bitmap to a Tracker server; the Tracker server selects nodes at a same area to form a list to be transmitted to the node according to a request of the node; the node selects six nodes with request data blocks by analyzing the bitmap of the node in the peer List, transmits connection requests to the six nodes until the first node responds and then transmits data with the responded node. If the local node is not enough to guarantee smooth play of a streaming media, the node requests P2P (Peer-to-Peer) sharing with a non-local node from the Tracker server. The support of the non-local node is rationally added while traffic localization is guaranteed as much as possible, so that the time delay for receiving a request program by a user in a FLASH P2P video-on-demand system is reduced, the smoothness for video play is improved, and the traffic pressure of a backbone network of an operator is greatly reduced.
