Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for upgrading a virtual switch. The method comprises the following steps: configuring a port made for the migration of the virtual machine based on the second OVS and updating stored virtual machine information; thermally migrating the virtual machine to the lower part of the second OVS based on the updated virtual machine information; configuring a port made for the emigration of the virtual machine based on the first OVS and adding an identifier to corresponding information in the virtual machine information; upgrading the first OVS based on the identified information; after the completion of upgrading, migrating back the virtual machine from the second OVS to the upgraded first OVS based on the identified information. According to the method and the device provided by the invention, the virtual machine can be guaranteed not to be off line and cut off in the OVS upgrading process and not to influence the user experience.
