The file receiving method comprises the steps of receiving an index value sent by a transmitting terminal, wherein the index value is generated by the a first remote distribution server corresponding to the transmitting terminal after the first remote distribution server receives a target file uploaded by the transmitting terminal; extracting a file identifier data segment and a distribution address data segment in the index value; sending a download request comprising the file identifier data segment to a distribution server corresponding to the distribution address data segment; and receiving the target file corresponding to the file identifier data segment sent by the first remote distribution server. The invention also discloses a file receiving device and corresponding file transmitting method and device. Through adoption of the method, the bandwidth usage efficiency of a content distribution network can be improved.
