The method comprises the steps that room temperature PID computation is conducted according to a temperature difference between a real-time indoor ambient temperature and a set indoor target temperature to obtain first frequency; a real-time distance between an indoor heat source and the air conditioner is determined, a real-time wind speed corresponding to the real-time distance is determined and then frequency corresponding to the real-time wind speed is determined and serves as second frequency; a real-time coil pipe target temperature corresponding to the real-time distance is determined, and coil pipe temperature PID computation is conducted according to a temperature difference between a real-time coil pipe temperature and the real-time coil pipe target temperature to obtain third frequency; if the real-time distance is not smaller than a set distance, the smaller one of the first frequency and the second frequency is selected as the target frequency; if the real-time distance is smaller than the set distance, the smallest one of the first frequency, the second frequency and the third frequency is selected as the target frequency; and a compressor of the air conditioner is controlled to operate according to the target frequency.
