The video bitrate self-adaptation adjusting method has the advantages that the round-trip delay between transmitting equipment and the correspondent node is acquired through the transmitting equipment, the queuing delay is calculated through the round-trip delay, the video bitrate is regulated according the queuing delay and the receiving rate of the correspondent node, that is to say, the queuing delay is used as the reference variable of video bitrate regulation; compared with a method using the packet loss rate as the reference variable of video bitrate regulation, the method can avoid the increasing of the packet loss rate due to link errors and long transmission distance of a wireless network and can accurately and effectively solve the real-time transmission problems of video files.
