Abstract

Methods and apparatuses for controlling terminal communication. A D2D configuration file is introduced into a HSS. When a terminal is attached to a network, a server determines whether the terminal has a D2D capability and preferably selects a D2D Relay mode. If so, when detecting that a distance between the terminal and a D2D Relay device is within D2D communication range, the server triggers the terminal to access the network through the D2D Relay device. After two terminals establish a communication connection via the network, if a condition for triggering D2D communication is satisfied, the server triggers the two terminals to establish a D2D communication connection there between. Through the present invention, it is possible to not only avoid low efficiency of manual switching, but also sufficiently take advantages of D2D communication, reduce the core network load, and improve communication processing capability in case of unchanged capacity and performance of the core network.
