Abstract

Taking a 16bit OPEN-EXR image as an example, the method comprises the following steps: firstly, reading out floating point values of pixel points of RGB three channels from an original OPEN-EXR image, finding corresponding 8bit integer values according to characteristics of the floating point values, and saving the 8bit integer values as a JPEG image; and then converting the floating point values of images of the three channels into 16bit integer values, performing data lossless compression by using Huffman encoding, and storing compressed data streams in a file header of the original JPEG image. The JPEG image synthesized by the method disclosed by the invention keeps an original image style well. The size of the synthesized image can be adjusted proportionally according to Huffman compression, thereby realizing a relatively high compression rate. The image can be restored into an original OPEN-EXR image after image compression due to the header file format of a JPEG format, so that JPEG lossless compression of the OPEN-EXR image is realized.
