Abstract

The invention provides an indoor unit of a vertical type air conditioner. The indoor unit comprises a housing, wherein a first chamber and a second chamber are defined in the housing; an air feeding hole and an air return hole are formed between the first chamber and the second chamber to communicate the first chamber with the second chamber; a fan for promoting the first chamber and the second chamber to perform gas exchange as well as an electric heating device and a heat exchanger which are configured to separately perform heat exchange with gas flow which flows through the fist chamber arearranged in the first chamber; and a clothes drying device for placing to-be-dried wet clothes is arranged in the second chamber. The indoor unit is provided with a clothes drying mode controlled bythe heat exchanger and/or the electric heating device to heat as well as a clothes condensing drying mode separately controlled by the heat exchanger and the electric heating device to refrigerate andheat; and the fan is configured to promote dried gas flow, formed by heat exchange with the heat exchanger or the electric heating device, in the first chamber to flow through the air feeding hole toenter the second chamber under the clothes drying mode and the clothes condensing and drying mode, and the dried gas flow reflows back into the first chamber through the air return hole after passingthrough the clothes drying device.
