908 results about "Fist" patented technology

To make or clench a fist is to fold the fingers tightly into the center of the palm and then to clamp the thumb over the middle phalanges; in contrast to this "closed" fist, one keeps the fist "open" by holding the thumb against the side of the index finger. One uses the closed fist to punch the lower phalanges against a surface, or to pound with the little-finger side of the hand's heel; one uses the open fist to knock with the middle knuckle of the middle finger.

Method and system for determining presence of probable error or fraud in a data set by linking common data values or elements

A method of detecting fraudulent or erroneous data from a transaction data set is provided. A first transaction record having a plurality of key values is selected from a transaction record database. One of the key values is selected from the selected transaction record. The transaction record database is then queried for transaction records having the selected key value. A second database is compiled of transaction records that contain the selected key value. At least one other key value is then selected from the originally selected transaction record, and the transaction record database is again queried for transaction records also having the second key value. The results of the fist, second and any subsequent queries are added to a second or a suspect transaction database. Then, using the uncovered records, the transaction database is queried for the use of key values common to the uncovered set of transactions to see if additional records are suspect. A list of queried key values is maintained to prevent the unnecessary or redundant use of the same query of the transactions. Risk coefficients of levels of fraud or mistake are assigned to the transaction records which have one or more common key values to the records uncovered as a consequence of the database queries.

Anastomosis device and method

An apparatus for treating a heart includes a housing member having a plurality of elongate channels defined therein and is movable between a first collapsed position and a second expanded position. A tissue attachment member is positioned in each channel. In one aspect, the apparatus is adapted for performing an anastomosis and includes a housing member having a plurality of elongate channels defined therein and which is movable between a fist collapsed position and a second expanded position. A surgical clip is positioned in each channel. A clip deployment mechanism projects the clips from their respective housings and a registration member approximates and aligns the first and second tubular structures. In a further aspect, helical barbs are movably affixed within sleeves formed on a sheetg of biocompatible material adapted for placement within a heart ventricle. Methods for treating a heart and reducing the volume of a heart ventricle are also provided. In a still further aspect, helical barbs provide attachment for patches for closure of a wound site or for suturing of a site needing closure. In yet another aspect of the invention, the helical barbs provide an attachment regine for implantable devices, as a well as a means to deliver medically efficacious materials to chosen sites with secure means. The helical device of the present invention further serves as a stent.

Motor cooling and eddy current suppression structure

A motor cooling and eddy current suppression structure (100), which is attached to the surface of the motor winding (201), includes a first cooling plate (101), a second cooling plate (103,104), and a cooling water circuit located between the first cooling plate and the second cooling plate. The cooling water circuit is configured to allow the cooling fluid to pass through. The first and the second cooling plates are both non-magnetic metallic materials. The first cooling plate is divided into a plurality of individual first regions (301,303) which are corresponding to each pole of the motor by one or more first slits (305) provided on the first cooling plate in the position where the motor poles are combined. Each of the first regions is further divided into an even number of first sub-areas by at least one fist sub-slit (306) where induced electromotive force is generated. Two adjacent first sub-areas in respective first regions are grouped together, and the ends of each first sub-area that has the same polarity are connected in series. The second cooling plate is divided into a plurality of individual second regions which are corresponding to each pole of the motor by one or more second slits provided on the second cooling plate in the position where the motor poles are combined. Each of the second regions is further divided into an even number of second sub-areas by at least one second sub-slit where induced electromotive force is generated. Two adjacent second sub-areas in respective second regions are grouped together, and the ends of each second sub-area that has the same polarity are connected in series. This structure can efficiently reduce the temperature of the motor winding and reduce the induced eddy current.
