Problems solved by technology

The estrus detection methods used today are basically crayon waxing method, manual observation method, etc., but these methods are time-consuming and labor-intensive, and are easy to miss detection
Studies have shown that 60% of dairy cows show estrus at night, and at the same time, the estrus behavior of high-yielding dairy cows is less obvious, and the proportion of dark estrus increases, which makes estrus identification a challenge (Song Yapan et al., 2014)
So far, although there are many detection technologies for cattle estrus monitoring research, but due to the limitations of technology and methods, there is no real application report

[0019] 1 Materials and methods

[0020] 1.1 Test time and place

[0021] From July 9th to August 6th, 2017 in a cattle farm in Hebei.

[0022] 1.2 Experimental animals and feeding management

[0023] 20 superovulated cows (14 natural estrus, 6 sympathetic estrus) were selected for temperature collection during estrus, and finally a total of 18 estrous cows (13 natural estrus; 5 simultaneous estrus) body temperature changes were collected. This batch of cattle underwent the last injection of supersequence around June 8, 2017, and the embryo punching time was 15 days. We used this batch of cattle for trials on July 9th. The experimental cows were raised in free-stalls and fed with a fully automatic TMR ration. They were given feed at 6:00 and 18:00 every day, free to eat and provided with clean drinking water.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for conducting early warning of cow rutting by detecting the temperature of the vagina of a cow. The method comprises the steps of continuously detecting the temperature of the vagina of the cow, recording the temperature change, and conducting early warning of cow rutting when the temperature of the random time point is raised to be 0.3 DEG C higher than the temperature average value of the same time point of the first 7 days. Through multiple times of exploration and verification, the temperature change rule of the vagina when the cow ruts is revealed, on this basis, a temperature change threshold value of cow rutting is judged, a cow rutting identification technology is originally developed, and automated monitoring of cow rutting is achieved. Despite partial false positive situations, no false negative situations occur, which shows that through the threshold value, all rutting cows can be identified, and the economic loss of a cattle farm cannot becaused. It is shown that the temperature threshold value has an ideal detecting result in detecting cow rutting, and has high application value.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of animal husbandry, in particular to a method for automatically monitoring estrus by setting a threshold to detect temperature changes of cattle. Background technique [0002] Reproduction is a very important link in dairy cow breeding. It is the premise of whether cows can produce milk and calve, and estrus detection is the top priority of breeding management. The estrus detection methods used today are basically crayon waxing method, manual observation method, etc., but these methods are time-consuming and labor-intensive, and are easy to miss. Studies have shown that 60% of dairy cows show estrus at night. At the same time, the estrus behavior of high-yielding dairy cows is less obvious, and the proportion of dark estrus increases, which makes the estrus identification work face challenges (Song Yapan et al., 2014). So far, although there are many detection techniques for cattle estrus monitoring research, but du...
