Abstract

Described herein are systems, methods, storage media, and computer programs that support application development in a movable object environment, wherein protocol independent movable object application may be developed. In one embodiment, a request is received in a first protocol from an application executing on an affiliated device to access a movable object; the request in the first protocol ismapped to a function in an application programming interface (API), where the API is independent of the first protocol; and the movable object is directed to perform the function, via the API.
