Abstract

The invention provides a method for low temperature induction and regulation of the flowering period of the wintersweet. The method for low temperature induction and regulation of wintersweet flowering provided by the present invention comprises placing wintersweet in an environment below 12°C for low temperature treatment, and the wintersweet flower buds can normally expand and open when the required cooling capacity reaches 570CU. Based on the 'Utah model' and '7.2°C model', the present invention observes and counts the morphological data of each stage of wintersweet flowering period, and at the same time conducts a preliminary analysis of the cooling capacity required for flowering of two wintersweet varieties 'Suxin' and 'Qingkou'. The research results showed that the cooling capacity of 'Suxin' and 'Qingkou' wintersweet were 558CU and 570CU, respectively. On this basis, the 12-year-old potted 'Suxin' wintersweet seedlings were subjected to different low-temperature artificial induction treatments, and it was found that the flower buds could expand and open normally under 4, 8, and 12°C treatments; among them, the cooling capacity required to reach 12°C reached 570CU, in order to expand and open.
