Abstract

The invention provides an MAC address proxy response method and device. The method comprises the following steps: firstly, receiving a request message sent by a connected switch; querying an adjacentADJ suppression table according to the destination IP address of the request message; under a first configuration condition, if a table entry corresponding to the destination IP address is queried, performing proxy response on the request message; under a second configuration condition, if a table entry corresponding to the destination IP address is queried, comparing whether interface informationin the table entry is the same as interface information carried by the request message, and whether VID (Virtual Local Area Network Identifier) information in the table entry is the same as VID information carried by the request message; if YES, discarding the request message; and otherwise, performing proxy response on the request message. Via the method, the problem that a two-layer flow forwarding path is not controlled due to conflict between the request message responded by a proxy and the message responded by a target host is solved.
