Abstract

The present invention relates to a Parkinson's disease diagnosis apparatus and method, the apparatus comprising: an image acquisition unit for acquiring a multi-echo amplitude and phase image from anMRI obtained by imaging the brain of a patient; an image processing unit for performing post-processing so as to observe only substantia nigra and a nigrosome 1 region presented as an image biomarkerof Parkinson's disease in the acquired image; an image analysis unit for analyzing the processed image to classify an image including the nigrosome 1 region, and detecting the nigrosome 1 region fromthe classified image; and a diagnosis unit for determining whether the nigrosome 1 region is normal in each classified image, so as to diagnose Parkinson's disease.
