The method comprises the following steps of: capturinga video and / or a two-dimensional image of a running motor vehicle through a two-dimensional image acquisition module; transmitting the acquired two-dimensional image to a data processing module, retrieving a corresponding model in a 3D model database, and then comparing the two-dimensional image with the 3D model; screening information of the vehicle suspected to be illegally refitted by analyzing a comparison result of the two-dimensional image and the 3D model; notifying a driver or a vehicle owner of the suspected illegally refitted vehicle to accept inspection, carrying out field inspection on the motor vehicle by inspection personnel, and verifying whether the motor vehicle is illegally refitted or not; and according to the verification result, handling the vehicle which is confirmedto be illegally refitted, and feeding back a handling result to a vehicle handling module.
