Embodiment Construction

[0027] therefore, figure 1 An example of a communication system supporting automatic meter management (AMM) in the context of electricity distribution services implementing the invention is schematically shown.

[0028] The communication system includes at least one power line communication (PLCN) network 100 logically deployed on the power supply network, hereinafter referred to as the PLCN network 100 . The PLCN network 100 enables Automatic Meter Management (AMM) to be set up in the context of electricity distribution services.

[0029]The communication system includes specific node devices called Data Concentrators (DC). The PLCN network 100 is intended to make it possible for multiple node devices to be connected to a data concentrator (DC) 110 . The node devices intended to be connected by the PLCN network 100 to the Data Concentrator (DC) 110 are Smart Electric Meters (SEM) 121 , 122 , 123 . Thus, the PLCN network 100 may establish power line communication so that th...

Abstract

A master meter (120) is connected to a data concentrator (110) via a first power line communication network (100) and to remote basic meters (131, 132, 133) via a second power line communication network (101). The master meter (120) emulates a smart electrical meter application in relation to the data concentrator (110) for each remote basic meter (131, 132, 133), in particular in order to construct a corresponding load curve. Fraud is detected when the ratio of energy consumption stated by all the remote basic meters to energy consumption measured by the master meter (120) is lower than a predefined threshold and, in addition, several load curves show a zero-crossing. The master meter (120) compares total energy consumptions estimated based on extrapolations of certain load curves with the measured energy consumption in order to identify which remote basic meter (131, 132, 133) is subject to fraud.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to automated meter management (AMM) systems in electricity distribution services, and more particularly to the detection of energy consumption fraud. Background technique [0002] Over the past few years, power line communication networks have emerged for automated meter management (AMM), especially in the context of distribution services. It is worth mentioning, for example, the G3-PLC standard specified in ITU-T Recommendation G.9903. In such a power line communication network, communication is established between electricity meters (called smart meters) and concentrator nodes (sometimes called data concentrators or base nodes or coordinators) to allow in particular Remote automatic reading of electricity usage measurements made, generally, enables remote control of electricity meters. Multiple data concentrators are deployed geographically to distribute the load of collecting metering readings from multiple smart mete...
