Abstract

Dialysis systems and methods for operating a dialysis machine (e.g., a peritoneal dialysis machine) for dialysis treatment are disclosed. The dialysis system may include a dialysis machine for delivering dialysate from a dialysate source to a patient. The dialysate may flow from the dialysate source through a cartridge or cartridge (e.g., a disposable cartridge or cartridge) that may be positioned within the dialysis machine. The cartridge includes a fluid flow channel. The dialysis machine includes a heating chamber for serial heating of dialysate in a fluid flow channel. The fluid flow channel is arranged and configured to provide turbulence of the dialysate through the fluid flow channel to provide enhanced heat transfer from the heating chamber to the dialysate.
