Benefits of technology

The present invention provides a foldable bed that is stronger than prior art folding beds, preventing failure of the middle structure. The frame structure contains two frame portions that each has a main body portion, allowing control of the overall length and width of the unfolded bed. This permits compliance with international mail standards, making it possible to send foldable beds to foreign customers using low-cost international mail. The technical effects of this invention include improved strength, controlled size and weight, and expanded international market potential.

Problems solved by technology

The sleeping space itself typically is relatively small, but many beds which are being used currently occupy a relatively large area, leaving little living space for people.
Prior art foldable beds on the market tend not to be light-weight and compact after being folded, still occupy a large space after being folded, and have a bed frame that is unstable.
Also, prior art foldable beds typically exceed the maximum size and weight allowable for inexpensive international shipping.
Thus, foldable beds manufactured in China are difficult and expensive to export and consequently have difficulty in expanding the international market in the field of foldable beds even if the quality is relatively good.

Abstract

A foldable bed, comprising a foldable rectangular frame having first and second frame portions, and having a hinged middle structure therebetween including first and second middle feet on opposite ends thereof disposed between and hingedly connected to the first and second frame portions. A plurality of supporting feet are removably connected to the underside of the frame portions near the outer corners thereof. First and second fixed sub-body portions are disposed the first and second frame portions, respectively, and first and second main body portions are disposed on the first and second frame portions, respectively, and are hingedly connected to the first and second fixed sub-body portions, respectively. The bed further comprises at least one articulable sub-body portion. The overall length of the foldable bed is no more than 215 cm and the overall width is no more than 158 cm.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD[0001]The present invention relates to the technical field of furniture; more particularly, to beds; and most particularly, to a foldable bed having capability for adjusting mattress pad configurations and angles as may be desired by a user, yet is foldable into a package small enough to meet the dimensional requirements for use in small apartments and also for inexpensive international shipping.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002]With the development of society and increase in house prices, many people live in a small apartment. Therefore, what is needed in the art is a lightweight, convenient foldable bed which when f...
