The present disclosure relates to disposable pant-type absorbent articles (1 ), such as pant diapers, hygiene pants or incontinence pants. The article comprises a base (2) and an absorbent body (5). The base (2) has a front (3) and a rear (4) and each of the front and rear (3, 4) has a waist edge (7, 8), a pair of leg edges (9, 10, 13 , 14) and a pair of side edges (11, 12, 15, 16). The front and rear portions (3, 4) join each other at opposing side edges (11, 12, 15, 16) to at least partially define a waist opening (18) and a pair of leg openings (19). The absorbent body (5) is mainly located in the crotch (22) of the article (1). The elastic leg features (17, 20) are secured to the base (2) at least partially along the leg edges (9, 10, 13, 14), and the article (1) has a longitudinal direction (y) and a transverse direction (x). The elastic leg features (17, 20) extend from the associated side edges (11, 12, 15, 16) towards a centerline (28) in the longitudinal direction (y) of the article (1). A portion of a leg elastic feature (17, 20) having a first length (L1), wherein any point of each leg edge (9, 10, 13, 14) to the elastic leg feature (17, 20) The distance (D) between the closest portions in the longitudinal direction is less than 6 mm, in particular less than 5 mm, and more in particular less than 4 mm. The first length (L1) is at least 55% of the maximum length (L2) of the leg openings (19) in the transverse direction (x), as measured in the stretched state of the absorbent article (1). The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method of making a pant-type absorbent article, and a series of gender-specific disposable absorbent articles.
