A method for preparing and applying crude and homogeneous polysaccharides of Bacteroides-regulating Mesona chinensis.

This invention discloses a method for preparing and applying crude and homogeneous polysaccharides of *Mesona chinensis* that regulate *Bacteroides*. The method includes the following steps: pulverizing *Mesona chinensis* herb, extracting by reflux with deionized water, filtering out the residue, concentrating to 1 / 4 of the volume, adding ethanol to 80% by volume, stirring evenly, letting stand overnight, centrifuging the precipitate, washing three times with anhydrous ethanol, ethyl acetate, and acetone respectively, dissolving in an appropriate amount of deionized water, and freeze-drying to obtain crude *Mesona chinensis* polysaccharide. The obtained crude *Mesona chinensis* polysaccharide is diluted with deionized water and dialyzed using dialysis bags in the range of 7000D, 100000D, 300000D, and 500000D respectively. The solutions are combined, concentrated, and freeze-dried to obtain homogeneous polysaccharides of *Mesona chinensis* with different molecular weights. The prepared crude and homogeneous polysaccharides of *Mesona chinensis* have good antioxidant capacity and can promote the growth of *Bacteroides* in the gut. In vitro experiments verified that the metabolites of *Mesona chinensis* polysaccharide have good lipid-lowering activity.
