Embodiment Construction

[0051] As mentioned above, diversity transmission is required mainly in mobility environments, typically for radio mobile systems. This will generally be more useful for systems that take advantage of certain channel diversity benefits in the frequency domain. Some of these systems are based on OFDMA technology, a combination of OFDM robust to channel degradation and FDMA access schemes for multiple access. The problem lies in allocating different streams to the distributed PRBs. Prior Art (e.g. 3GPP-LTER1-061182, "Diversity FDMA Transmission for Shared Data Channels in E-UTRA Downlink", NTT DoCoMo, Ericsson, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Panasonic , Sharp, Toshiba Corporation, Ericsson) proposed to divide the PRB into slices in the time or frequency domain. More generally, these tiles can be formed as a number of contiguous subcarriers.

[0052] One basic approach consists in allocating the same slice within all diverse PRBs to a given stream. Figure...

Abstract

The invention concerns multi-carrier based digital telecommunication systems where the channel is used to transport several data streams according to the frequency division multiple access scheme. The proposed method concerns a mapping of data on physical resource in a transmission system where data of elementary streams is distributed over several physical resource blocks, and within each resource block in order to get data from a plurality of elementary streams on at least one sub-carrier and at least a symbol time of each physical resource block. This allows to achieve a good diversity of the allocation of the different streams, leading to the advantage, among others, that poor transmission conditions affecting a particular sub-carrier or a particular time duration, will not concentrate its effects on a particular stream.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a multi-carrier based digital telecommunication system in which channels are used to transmit multiple data streams according to a frequency division multiple access scheme (FDMA). Different data streams originate from at least one source and / or are addressed to at least one target. A typical example is a multi-user radio mobile cellular system, where a channel is shared among multiple users and each user can potentially receive multiple services. Another application is eg for broadcasting of audio or video signals, where often several programs are transmitted on the same channel. Data associated to different users, services, programs, etc. are finally described as logical streams. More specifically, the invention relates to the mapping of data on physical resources for transmission. Background technique [0002] Figure 1 illustrates the architecture of radio resource channels at different times 1.1. The channel con...
