The integrated gateway includes an input / output interface unit, an Internet gateway unit, a telephone network interface unit, a microprocessor, a control unit, a Universal Asynchronous Receiver / Transmitter (UART), and a memory unit. The input / output interface unit communicates with the home appliances. The Internet gateway unit is connected to the Internet. The telephone network interface unit is connected to the PSTN.
