Problems solved by technology

However, if the transmission rate increases, the signal may be significantly changed by the frequency characteristics of the channel (i.e., the transmission path), and the ability to accurately determine 1 and 0 from the detected waveform by removing the DC offset may be impaired

Embodiment 7

[0112] [A. Example of Equalization in Detector Circuit of Receiver]

[0113] First, an embodiment in which equalization is performed in a detector circuit of a receiving device will be described. More specifically, the embodiments described below are provided with a circuit for correcting frequency characteristics, such as an equalizer in the form of a filter circuit. This embodiment is therefore configured to correct the input signal before performing signal detection.

[0114] The following will combine Figure 8 An exemplary configuration of a communication device according to an embodiment of the present invention is described. Figure 8 Shows a pair of communication devices for near field communication, similar to previous reference Figure 1A and 2A The described communication device is similar. in other words, Figure 8 A reader / writer 100 and a smart card or similar transponder 200 are respectively shown. Both the reader / writer 100 and the transponder 200 are ex...

Abstract

A communication apparatus includes a signal detector that detects incoming (i.e., receives) information from a signal received wirelessly. The signal detector includes a wave detector, an equalizer, and a detector. The wave detector accepts an incoming signal wherein information is modulated onto a carrier signal, analyzes the envelope variation of the incoming signal, and generates a detection signal containing the incoming information. The equalizer corrects the detection signal and outputs a corrected detection signal. The detector then detects the incoming information from the corrected detection signal.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a communication device and a signal processing method. More specifically, the present invention relates to a communication device and a signal processing method capable of short-range communication using technologies related to such as smart cards (ie, IC cards). Background technique [0002] Currently, portable devices such as smart cards and mobile phones with short-range communication functions are widely used. For example, FeliCa developed by Sony Corporation TM smart card. Sony Corporation and Philips Corporation have also developed a short-range wireless communication standard called NFC (Near Field Communication). [0003] In near field communication, a carrier frequency such as 13.56 MHz is used to communicate in the range from touch (ie 0 cm) to about 10 cm. will now combine Figures 1A to 2B to outline this communication. At these distances, communication can be thought of as a magnetic coupling between t...
