Abstract

A depilatory kit may comprise a depilatory composition comprising a sulfur-containing depilatory agent and a finishing composition comprising a metal oxide selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, aluminum oxide, and magnesium oxide. The depilatory composition may further comprise a lactone such as 1,15-cyclopentadecanolide. Methods for using the depilatory kits are also disclosed herein.

field of invention [0001] The present invention relates to a depilatory kit comprising a depilatory composition and a neutralizing composition. Background of the invention [0002] Removing unwanted hair for cosmetic purposes is common in many people around the world. Women especially desire to remove unwanted hair on the face, underarms, legs and other body parts. Common mechanical hair removal techniques include shaving, tweezing, and waxing. Each of these mechanical hair removal techniques has undesirable disadvantages such as pain, significant stubble, or razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae). Chemical hair removers are currently available at retail. Chemical depilatory compositions are convenient because they destroy the hair more thoroughly than shaving, thereby reducing frequency of use, and without the risk of cuts or abrasions.
