Abstract

The invention relates to a method for detecting a hot strip steel unequal-height free loop, comprising the following steps of, firstly, respectively installing a set of infrared loop detector at the inner arc side and the outer arc side of a hot steel strip free loop, wherein the two loop detectors are arranged on a same horizontal plane, distances from the two loop detectors to a cast roll and a loop guide roll are equal, and the two loop detectors are both arranged at the outer side of the cast roll and the outer side of the loop guide roll; installing the loop detectors on the plane parallel to the advancing direction of a cast strip and vertical to the width of the cast strip, wherein the centre line of a scanning detection angle of the two loop detectors is a same straight line; respectively measuring a same detection point on the free loop by the two loop detectors after starting working; obtaining angles of different loop heights along with the advancing of the cast strip; and calculating the actual height of the loop according to the angle corresponding to the height of the loop detected by the two detectors. With the adoptation of the method, an accurate measuring result of the free loop can be obtained.
