Bluetooth RF based RF-tag read/write station

InactiveUS20040069852A1Avoid extra cost and areaProgrammed easily and on the flyMultiple modulation transmitter/receiver arrangementsBeacon systems using radio wavesFrequency bandTransceiver chip
A transceiver is provided that can adapt itself to operate as an RF tag reader or as a bluetooth transceiver by changing its reception and transmission capabilities. The cost and area of an additional transceiver where both a bluetooth transceiver and an RF tag reader are required is avoided. The same radio part is used for both bluetooth and for RF tag reader operation. Since the operation band is the same, there is no need to change the center frequency of the resonance needed by the radio front-end. Software controlled adaptivity is included due to the different nature of these systems so that the mode of the radio hardware can be programmed easily and on the fly. This provides a software defined architecture tailored for bluetooth / RF tag operation. This invention integrates two different systems to one transceiver chip giving cost and space savings by reusing existing analog parts.

Generic parameterization for a scene graph

A parameterized scene graph provides mutable (animated) values and parameterized graph containers such that an application program or the like can selectively change certain aspects of the scene graph description while leaving other aspects intact, and also reuse portions of the scene graph with different parameters. To this end, mutable values are provided, which provide the higher level code with hooks into the scene graph enabling the scene description to be changed. The mutable values may be varied over time to provide animation. A parameterized graph container is also described that enables a scene graph portion to be templatized for reuse throughout a scene in a generic way. In this manner, a single parameterized graph container may be efficiently reused in a scene graph, with different values for its parameters.

Message translation and parsing of data structures in a distributed component architecture

InactiveUS20050097566A1Efficiently parseEfficiently translateInterprogram communicationMultiple digital computer combinationsUser needsMessage structure
The present invention is related to systems and methods that parse and / or translate inbound messages into outbound messages such that disparate computer systems can communicate intelligibly. In one embodiment, a system recursively parses the inbound message such that relatively fewer outbound message structure definitions are required and advantageously decreases the usage of resources by the system. Further, one system in accordance with the present invention allows an operator to configure the identity of a delimiter in the inbound message. The delimiter can span multiple characters and includes the logical inverse of a set of delimiters. The outbound message can be accessed at nodes within a hierarchy, as well as at leaves. Thus, a user need not know the precise location of data within the outbound message. A set of updating rules further permits the updating of an outbound message without having to re-parse an entire inbound message.
