The method comprises the following steps of: detecting mode switching from a driving mode to a walking mode in the personal navigation device, recording a vehicle place during mode switching from the driving mode to the walking mode, receiving a requirement of a user so as to generate a navigation instruction that the user arrives at a destination, and judging a distance from a current position to the destination; and when the distance from the current position to the destination is greater than or equal to a critical distance, providing a walking navigation instruction by the personal navigation device so as to guide the user to return to the vehicle place, and providing a driving navigation instruction by the personal navigation device so as to guide the user to arrive at the destination.
