Abstract

The invention discloses a variational method-based method for reducing stripe noise of a moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS). The method comprises the following steps that: data separation is carried out on MODIS data according to a resolution; obtained detector subimages are divided into two categories: subimages not containing stripe noises or containing unobvious stripe noises belong to one category and subimages containing obvious stripe noises belong to the other category; stripe noise removal is carried out on the subimages containing obvious stripe noises by utilizinga variational method; and at last, combination is carried out on all the detector subimages that have been processed by the stripe noise removal and the subimages that do not contain the stripe noises according to a number sequence so as to obtain images after stripe noise removal. According to the invention, it can be realized that noises of stripes between detectors and a random noise stripe ofan MODIS can be removed simultaneously, so that a condition that one stripe noise is enhanced when the other kind of stripe noise is removed can be avoided; moreover, a stripe noise influence is effectively solved and simultaneously, physical characteristics of original data are reserved to the greatest extent.
