Problems solved by technology

When a faulty router in the VRRPE backup group is restored or a new router is added, full load sharing cannot be achieved
Even if the downlink clients send ARP requests at regular intervals, when a faulty router in the VRRPE backup group has recovered or a new router has been added, load sharing cannot be achieved within a certain period of time.
[0013] It can be seen that in the prior art solution, when the status of the VRRPE backup group changes, the effect of load sharing of the VRRPE backup group will be affected, and the effect of load sharing largely depends on whether the downlink client initiates a call to the gateway in time. ARP request, it will be difficult to achieve timely load sharing

Embodiment 1

[0045] This embodiment describes the implementation process of traffic load sharing after only one router in the VRRPE backup group works normally, and then a router that fails in the VRRPE backup group recovers to normal or a new router joins the VRRPE backup group.

[0046] Such as Figure 6 As shown, currently only one router, Router A, is working normally in the VRRPE backup group, the VRRPE backup group is configured in VLAN 2, and the gateway MAC addresses of the four clients (Client C, Client D, ClientE, and Client F) are all MAC1 , the four clients can only access the Internet through Router A. There will be ARP entries shown in Table 1 on Router A:

Embodiment 2

[0055] This embodiment describes the implementation process of traffic load sharing after two routers in the VRRPE backup group work normally, and then a router that fails in the VRRPE backup group recovers to normal or a router newly joins the VRRPE backup group.

[0056] Such as Figure 8 As shown, there are currently two routers, Router A and Router B, working normally in the VRRPE group, and the VRRPE backup group is configured in VLAN 2. The gateway MAC addresses of Client D and Client F are MAC1, and the gateway MAC addresses of Client E and Client G The address is MAC2. When four clients access the Internet, the load can be shared through Router A and Router B.

[0057]Ideally, there will be four ARP entries on Router A and Router B. The interfaces of the ARP entries on Router A and Router B are different. Table 2 shows the ARP entries on Router A:

Abstract

The invention discloses a traffic load sharing realization method based on a VRRPE backup group and a realization apparatus thereof. The method comprises the following steps sending a media access control (MAC) address allocation request to members in the backup group when a route device is added into the backup group; when master equipment receives the request, allocating a virtual MAC address, sending the virtual MAC address to member equipment in the group, carrying out load balancing calculation based on an address resolution protocol (ARP) entry so as to obtain a virtual MAC address of a target route device of a client in the entry, and sending the virtual MAC address of the target route device to the client for gateway MAC address update; when backup equipment in the group receive the virtual MAC address allocated by the master equipment for the newly-added route device, carrying out load balancing calculation based on an ARP entry so as to obtain a virtual MAC address of a target route device of a client in the entry, and sending the virtual MAC address of the target route device to the client for gateway MAC address update. According to the invention, when the state of the VRRPE backup group changes, traffic load sharing can be realized in time.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of communications, in particular to a VRRPE backup group-based flow load sharing implementation method and device thereof. Background technique [0002] In network communication technology, VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) is to add multiple routing devices with gateway functions into a VRRP backup group to form a virtual router. Unique fixed primary IP address (virtual address) and virtual MAC (Media Access Control, Media Access Control) address, multiple routing devices in the VRRP backup group elect a Master (master ) device is responsible for traffic forwarding, and other Backup (standby) devices that assume a backup role are responsible for monitoring the Master device, and re-elect the Master device when the Master device is detected to be faulty. [0003] VRRPE (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol Extend) is a virtual gateway load sharing protocol, which is an extension based on VRRP. Based ...
