Embodiment Construction

[0032] Exemplary embodiments of the present invention are provided in sequence in order to fully explain the present invention, examples of which are shown in the accompanying drawings, like reference characters refer to like parts throughout, said embodiments are hereinafter described with reference to the accompanying drawings Explain the invention.

[0033] Figure 4 is a block diagram showing the structural configuration of an apparatus 110 for encoding an XML document according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0034] refer to Figure 4 , the device 110 for encoding XML files may include a path code distributor 120 and an XML encoder 130 .

[0035] The path code assigner 120 may receive a schema from the metadata manager 100 and assign path codes to elements and attributes defined in the schema. That is, the path code assigner 120 may assign different path codes to all attributes and some elements in each X path, thereby generating a path code table.

Abstract

A method and apparatus of encoding and decoding an Extensible Markup Language (XML) document using a path code is provided. A method of encoding an XML document, the method including: searching the XML document for all element tags and all attributes including character data; extracting an XPath of each of the retrieved element tags and attributes; converting the extracted XPath into a predetermined path code; and expressing an occurrence indicator of each of all element tags included in the converted XPath.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to methods and devices for encoding and decoding Extensible Markup Language (XML: Extensible Markup Language) using path codes. technical background [0002] Due to the narrow bandwidth of DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), a large amount of data cannot be transmitted in the terrestrial DMB environment. Furthermore, data in text format, such as files written in XML, cannot be transferred. Correspondingly, in traffic information services such as the Transport Protocol Experts Group (TPEG: Transport Protocol Experts Group) communication protocol, the data information written in XML may be encoded in real time according to the binary encoding mode of the transport protocol. Transmission to digital multimedia broadcasting network. [0003] At present, terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting communication protocol, electronic program index (EPG: Electronic Program Guide), transportation protocol communication protocol...
