The method comprises the following steps of: selecting fault types to be injected for testing an SAN storage device; and packing a fault injection command to be an iSCSI (internet Small Computer System Interface) information pack according to a fault injection manner and the selected fault type, and transmitting the information pack to the storage area network to start fault injection. According to the method and device disclosed by the invention, various faults of a shared storage device are simulated under an SAN environment, and simulated fault injection is carried out by a starting end and a target end so that fault treatment and fault recovery conditions of each end are tracked, the tracking process is simultaneously recorded in a system log, and treatment measures taken by a system in an abnormal condition every time are tracked down by checking the system log, thus the coverage rate and the reliability of the shared storage device test in the SAN are improved, and the test cost is reduced.
