Embodiment Construction

[0048]The present invention first measures the minimum perceptible difference corresponding to different viewing angles (retinal eccentricity) under contrast masking conditions through visual perception experiments; then calculates the local minimum perceivable difference of the test picture according to the existing image local minimum perceivable difference model. Perceive the difference; then calculate the ratio of the test minimum perceptible difference to the local minimum perceivable difference to obtain the average ratio under different viewing angles; calculate the contrast sensitivity corresponding to different viewing angles, and perform normalization processing. Next, use the normalized contrast sensitivity and contrast based on the viewing angle to fit the average ratio, and obtain the visual characteristic model m based on the viewing angle for contrast masking 1 . Finally, based on the results of this experiment, a computational model for the global minimum perce...

Abstract

The invention provides a method for measuring image global minimum perceived difference. In a model establishment stage, corresponding measurement images are generated according to characteristic parameters of each group of tested images, a corresponding noise intensity threshold value is obtained by using a staircase method, a visual characteristic model aiming at contrast masking is obtained, and a calculation model of the global minimum perceived difference is proposed. In a model application stage, the image global minimum perceived difference of any input gray level image is obtained through calculation by utilizing the calculation model of the global minimum perceived difference obtained in the model establishment stage. Measuring images generated through the method have larger MSEs and capacity of hiding noise, and the perception redundancy of human eyes can be exploited more effectively. The method for measuring the image global minimum perceived difference combines a contrast ratio masking effect and other masking effects, and results are more accurate.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of image processing, in particular to a method for measuring the global minimum perceivable difference of an image. Background technique [0002] In recent years, video content has gradually developed towards high-quality and high-resolution video, but high-quality video is also accompanied by a huge amount of data. In order to reduce transmission and storage costs, better video compression methods need to be proposed to achieve a balance between compression ratio and video quality. [0003] Traditional video compression methods achieve the purpose of compression by removing spatial and temporal statistical redundancy. In order to obtain better compression efficiency, a more in-depth study of the perceptual redundancy characteristics of the human visual system (HVS) is required. Researchers have used JND (just noticeable difference) to simulate the brightness, contrast and spatiotemporal masking effects of HVS. JND...
