[0020] figure 1 and 2 The illustrated fuel supply system for a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine has a low-pressure circuit 10 with a low-pressure line 11 and a high-pressure circuit 20 with a high-pressure line 21 . The low-pressure line 11 leads from the oil sump 19 to the high-pressure pump 15 through the feed pump 14 and the fuel filter 13 . A high-pressure line 21 leads from the high-pressure pump 15 to a fuel accumulator 22 , also called a fuel rail. The fuel accumulator 22 is optionally connected to a pressure regulating valve 23 which regulates the pressure in the fuel accumulator 22 to the required injection pressure. For example, a plurality of fuel injectors 24 are connected to the fuel accumulator 22 . Fuel is injected under high pressure into a combustion chamber (not shown) of the internal combustion engine by means of the fuel injectors 24 . Return line 17 returns from pressure regulator valve 23 and from fuel injector 24 to sump 19 .

Abstract

A low-pressure circuit of a fuel supply device of a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine is proposed. The low-pressure circuit (10) has a low-pressure line (11), which forms an input from the supply pump (13) to the high-pressure pump (15), wherein a controllable regulating element (16) delivers a pre-pressure to the high-pressure pump (15). The selected supply flow, and the excess fuel supplied from the supply pump (13) is directed into the return line (17) by means of an overflow valve (30). A T-piece (40) is arranged in the low-pressure line (11), in which the overflow valve (30) is accommodated.
