Embodiment Construction

[0082] Figure 1a and 1b A first embodiment of a filter cleaning head and its various components is shown. Figure 1a and 1b The filter cleaning head in is applied to the semi-permeable cartridge wall 1, which in the preferred embodiment is a metal braided wire sintered wire mesh. The hollow duct 2 connects the combined rotor / nozzle 3 to the rest of the backwash mechanism and also functions to support the rotor / nozzle 3 . The rotor / nozzle 3 is a rotating rotor / nozzle 3 and is sealed to the end of the pipe 2 via a ring seal 4 acting to prevent loss of process fluid. Another seal 5 depicts another seal which acts to prevent dirt from entering the interstitial space between the rotor / nozzle 3 and the hollow pipe 2 . In this preferred embodiment, the rotor / nozzle 3 is supported for rotational movement on the thread 6 about its axis of rotation by means of a nut 7 held inside the rotor / nozzle 3 . The cartridge 1 receives incoming fluid 8 and provides filtered fluid 9 . During f...

Abstract

A cleaning head for a filter backwashing mechanism comprises a nozzle 3 for contact with a filter element wall 1 and for receiving a flow of backwash fluid 10 wherein the nozzle comprises a rotor 3 for generating a torque when exposed to the flow of backwash fluid 10, and wherein the cleaning head is arranged such that at least a part of the nozzle will move toward and apply a force to the filter element wall 1 as a result of the torque generated by the rotor 3.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a filter cleaning head and a related method for cleaning a filter, for example, a filter element for cleaning a water filtration device. Background technique [0002] Filtration is a preparatory step in many fluid treatment processes, especially water treatment processes. This process is generally aimed at improving water quality and reducing the risks associated with unwanted elements in water or other liquids. Filtration processes can also be used to remove solids and liquids from process gases. Filtration enables the efficient use of fluids in subsequent processes, for example, as process fluids in cleaning, cooling or manufacturing processes. Improved filtration technology will benefit currently applied treatment methods regardless of media and application, and this technology will be further exploited to develop improved processes and techniques. [0003] Filtration is conventionally used in many applications su...
