The gear lubricating oil is prepared through taking neopentyl polyol ester as base oil, adding a small amount of sulfur, nitrogen and boron-containing boride borate BNS, dialkyl pentasulfide (RC2540) and phosphide P120, and mixing uniformly. The formula is as follows: neopentyl polyol ester serves as the base oil, and the following ingredients, which account for the weight percent of neopentyl polyol ester, are added: 0.05-0.65% of BNS, 0.05-0.65% of RC2540 and 0.1-0.7% of P120. The gear lubricating oil has excellent extreme-pressure wear resistance, high bearing capacity which can reach 1,906N and the lowest wear scar value of 0.255mm, can be used for preparing vehicle gear oil and can also be applied to medium-duty industrial gear oil.
