By means of the method and device, materials can be segmented, a multi-process is used for performing distributed computing, blocking frequency of a database is reduced, and performance losses are reduced. The method includes the steps that a bill of materials (BOM) is obtained; parent item materials and subitem materials associated with the BOM in the BOM are determined through a pre-configured segmentation algorithm; the MRP corresponding to the parent item materials and the subitem materials associated with the BOM is calculated, and computing results are obtained; the computing results obtained respectively are combined, and a computing result of MRP of the BOM is obtained.
