The embodiment of the present invention discloses a method and device for establishing RF fingerprint database, comprising: firstly, uniformly sampling N positions and collecting wireless signal characteristics of the N positions; then sampling M positions again according to the wireless signal characteristics of the sampled N positions and collecting wireless signal characteristics of the M positions; at last, calculating wireless signal characteristics of un-sampled positions according to the wireless signal characteristics of the sampled positions and establishing a RF fingerprint database. It is thus obvious that the method and device for establishing RF fingerprint database provided in the embodiment of the present invention are only necessary to manually collect the wireless signal characteristics of a part of positions. The wireless signal characteristics of other positions can be calculated based on the wireless signal characteristic of the sampled positions. Therefore, the method and device reduce the complexity for establishing the RF fingerprint database.
