Abstract

The invention provides a statistical method and device for network traffic. The method comprises the following steps: when a plurality of CPUs receive a message flow, inquiring a corresponding storage unit from a preset index table based on the receiving time of the message flow, wherein the index table comprises corresponding relations between a plurality of storage units and a time index; writing the traffic size of the message flow in the inquired storage unit; and periodically traversing the CPUs by a control CPU to obtain the traffic size from the previous storage unit corresponding to a current time in the index table of the CPUs, accumulating the traffic sizes to obtain an accumulated value, and writing the accumulated value in the previous storage unit corresponding to the current time in the index table of the control CPU in an accumulation manner. In the method and device, locking and unlocking do not need to be set for a traffic memory for multiple times, so the problem of low statistical efficiency of network traffic by a network device in related technology can be solved.
