The method comprises the following steps of sampling a current frame image to acquire several first sample areas which are close to an initial target area and several second sample areas which are far away from the initial target area, and using a same preset mode to acquire N pairs of image blocks; according to an image difference of any one pair of image blocks, calculating a characteristic value corresponding to the pair of the image block so as to form a N-dimensional characteristic vector; carrying out statistics on the N-dimensional characteristic vector in ranges of all the first sample areas and all the second sample areas respectively so as to acquire two histograms corresponding to each dimension in the N-dimensional characteristic vector; and from now on, in any one frame of image, using the same mode to acquire the N-dimensional characteristic vector corresponding to any one candidate target sample area, and through comparing the N-dimensional characteristic vector and all the histograms, acquiring a matching degree of the candidate target sample area and a target area to be detected.
