Abstract

The invention discloses a graph layout evaluation method based on visual perception. The graph layout evaluation method comprises the following steps of: (1), providing a node visual importance influence factor; (2), giving a data set of a network structure, and calculating the topological structure importance of each node in the network structure from different angles; and (3), calculating and measuring the visual importance of each node in the layout based on the visual importance influence factor provided in the step (1). A graph layout algorithm is evaluated by comparing the visual importance of the node with the topological structure importance; on the one hand, with the help of a thermodynamic diagram, the difference between the two is intuitively shown; on the other hand, a difference value is precisely obtained through calculation; layout that the difference between the node visual importance and the topological structure importance is small is relatively optimal; by means of the graph layout evaluation method disclosed by the invention, different graph layout algorithms can be evaluated from the visual perspective; the problem that most of existing graph layout evaluation is based on aesthetic standards and less existing graph layout evaluation is based on the visual angle can be solved; and thus, the graph layout evaluation method has a certain practical value.
