Abstract

The invention provides a method and a controller for receiving a request. In the method for receiving the request, the controller receives the request containing the topology information of a virtual network. The controller, based on the request, determines a first physical link and a second physical link corresponding to a first virtual link and a second virtual link respectively wherein there does not exist the same physical node between the first physical link and the second physical link. With the schemes proposed by the invention, the reliability design of a user in the virtual network can be supported by a physical network, which facilitates to increase the communication business reliability. As the controller is based on the main link and the backup link of a virtual network to determine the main link and the backup link of the physical network, the reliability requirement for the communication business can be better satisfied.
