Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses an idle channel determination method and idle channel determination equipment based on beams. The method comprises the steps of detecting channel energy in afirst beam direction via a beam-based receiving antenna, wherein thresholds of channel detection energy in the beam directions with different coverage angles are different, and the threshold of the channel detection energy in the first beam direction is in reverse proportion to the coverage angle of the first beam, then comparing an acquired first energy value with the threshold of the channel detection energy in the first beam direction, and if the first energy value is less than the threshold of the channel detection energy in the first beam direction, accurately determining that a first alternative frequency band in the first beam direction is idle. According to the method, the different corresponding channel detection energy thresholds are used for the different beams, so that the accuracy of channel direction in each beam direction is greatly improved, and thus spectrum efficiency of the unauthorized spectrum in each beam direction is improved.
