The method is characterized in that during energy storage, air is compressed and stored into a air storage chamber by using a first-stage air compressor, a second-stage air compressor and a third-stage air compressor, and meanwhile, the compression heat generated in the process is collected; and during energy release, the compressed air discharged from the air storage chamber is subjected to heat recovery and heating for two times andthen is input to a first-stage turbine expansion machine to do work through expansion, and the air outputted by the first-stage turbine expansion machine is subjected to heat recovery and heating again and then is input to a second-stage turbine expansion machine to do work through expansion, wherein the heat generated during the heat recovery is derived from the compression heat collected in theenergy storage process. According to the 50 MW adiabatic compressed air energy storage method, peak regulation of a power grid is facilitated, and absorption of renewable energy power is promoted; and meanwhile, the heat grade and the heat utilization rate of a energy storage system are improved, and by applying the energy storage method, the electric energy conversion efficiency of the energy storage system can reach more than 60%.
