The method disclosed by the embodiment of the invention includes: obtaining workflow configuration information input by a user from a network portal, wherein the workflow configuration information includes page presentation information of at least one task node in the workflow, an operation object of at least one task node, and / or a sequential relationship between at least one task node and other task nodes in the workflow; and building ormodifying the workflow based on the workflow configuration information. The embodiment of the invention can automatically generate the workflow or modify the workflow on line, and does not need to customize and develop the workflow offline; therefore, the efficiency of the workflow customization can be improved.
