The invention provides a method and a system for a terminal to release different source group calls based on a broadband cluster system. The method comprises the steps that a core network side serverreceives a group call release request message sent by any terminal: when determining that the group call release type is different source group calls, determining whether the terminal has permission to release the different source group calls or not: if so, initiating a group call release process, or else refusing the group call release request of the terminal; when it is determined that the groupcall release type is voice group call, determining whether the terminal has permission to release a voice group call service or not: if yes, initiating a voice group call service release process, orelse refusing the group call release request of the terminal; when it is determined that the group call release type is a video service, determining whether the terminal has a permission to release the video service or not: if yes, initiating a video service release process, or else refusing the group call release request of the terminal.
