Embodiment Construction

[0025] The present invention provides and coordinates battery testing, maintenance, installation, fulfillment, and battery disposal, and is able to perform these functions over a wide geographic area. The present invention passes BatteryCorpBC-T2000 tester and web-based OMS TM The platform seamlessly combines these businesses. This new solution helps companies improve their backup power systems while reducing costs.

[0026] figure 1 Indicates the preferred large label associated with a single battery. The label is associated with a particular battery cell such that the unique identification number embedded in the label is always associated with that particular battery. Preferably, to ensure this continuous association, as in figure 2 As shown, the large label is secured to the outer casing of the battery 5 using an adhesive.

[0027] The large label is preferably a barcode marking containing the unique identifier of the associated battery. figure 1 The label shown in p...

Abstract

The invention relates to the management of large stationary batteries. The invention is a comprehensive process for the management of stationary batteries that are used for backup power and are deployed in widely dispersed locations. The OMS(TM) (Optimization Management System) solution is comprised of Mega-Tags (preferably serialized bar-coded identification labels), a battery testing and data acquisition device, and web-based software. The OMS(TM) system employs algorithmic testing to determine whether a particular battery unit needs to be replaced or whether it can be advantageously redeployed. It also determines whether a particular deployment location contains anomalous readings, signifying potential problems with either the batteries themselves or possibly with other electrical equipment at the location. These components work together to provide a platform for managing a large number of perishable, expensive, and geographically dispersed assets.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the management of large stationary batteries. The present invention is an integrated system and apparatus for managing stationary batteries used as backup power and deployed at widely dispersed locations. Optimization Management System (OMS TM ) solutions include battery tags (sometimes referred to here as "Mega-Tags", which are preferably serial barcode identification markers), battery testing and data acquisition devices, and web-based OMS TM software. These components work together to provide a platform for managing large numbers of fragile, expensive, and geographically dispersed resources. Background technique [0002] The present invention addresses many of the unique problems associated with batteries. Batteries are fragile. That is, batteries have a limited shelf life and a limited useful life. Thanks to OMS TM The stationary industrial battery type for the solution is usually a sealed lead-acid battery. ...
